Qula Kids Trails, Game manual

The questions are all nice and nice, but you still don't know how it works. We explain in simple steps what you have to do on the day.

1. The Game Master (you, a parent) goes to www.qula-trails.com, Kids Trails and opens the Control Room. You will receive the password from us by e-mail.

2. You divide the children into groups. You give each group 1 telephone with an Internet connection. 

3. The children with a telephone go to www.qula.fun

4. In the Control Room are 'Game Pins'. These are numbers. These enter the children.

5. You click on 'Start game' and enter a maximum time that the children can spend on the game.

6. The children go out with questions and assignments

7. If the children take pictures maken, you must assign from the 'Control Room' whether they did the command right or wrong. 

8. From the Control Room you can see where the children are. You can also send messages to the teams from the Control Room. For example, "come home now for ice cream."

9. The game is over when:
A. the maximum time has elapsed (you set it!)
B. if you message the teams to come home
C. When the children have answered all the questions (this is almost impossible because there are almost 100 questions)

The Control Room is on the website www.qulatrails.com and can be opened on a phone and on a PC/laptop. A laptop is very practical to operate the Control Room.

There are 2 types of questions for the teams:

– Search questions, where they have to look for something and a photo of it must maken.

– Asking for location, where the team first has to walk a certain distance (in any direction) and is asked a question once they have arrived at a point. By running the distance you earn extra points. In this question there is a distance meter that indicates how far you still have to walk.

In addition, the Kids Trail spamade more interesting and enjoyable by questions that:
– must be done within a certain time.
– photo questions, where the team has to take a photoaken
– questions with a sound or video fragment
– open and multiple choice questions

The children are allocated a maximum time for some questions. This is about spanning, but also to prevent them from getting stuck on a question.

A maximum of 300 points can be earned per question. With Time questions, the number of points that the children can earn decreases per second.

To prevent the children on a bench from rushing through all the questions, a certain distance has to be walked between the questions. 

See example, if the children here walk 50 meters they earn 50 Bonus points.

The children can also choose 'Show question immediately', but then they will not earn any bonus points and therefore cannot win.

Walking in circles makes no sense for the children, the distance must be walked 'normally'.

It is important that you tell them this!

Each group of children must bring 1 mascot. A doll for example. Why is that?

The children are given photo assignments. For example: 'take a picture of a Renault'. 

The children naturally want to win and think they are smart by looking up a picture of a Renault on the Internet. That is why the mascot must also be photographed in such photo assignments. 

In this example, the mascot should be photographed together with the Renault.
