A lovely walk through the Katwijk dunes. Most of the route runs on a shell path and a small part goes through the loose sand, making it not so suitable for prams.

About a thousand years ago the first dunes arose near Oostvoorne and Rockanje and they are still growing. This walk goes through the oldest, sheltered inner dunes. You pass dune grasslands, shrubbery and forest, interspersed with human traces such as dune houses and market gardens.
